The Swiss athlete began the series with wins in Chicago and New York City in 2019 before the pandemic interrupted the campaign.
She placed second in the elite only London Marathon in 2020 and returned to action with a successful Paralympic Games in which she took home two gold medals as well as silver in the marathon.
When the Majors returned, Schär displayed superb form to win Berlin, London and Boston before placing third in New York City.
Schar has been the dominant performer in the women’s wheelchair marathon since 2018 when she won her first Series crown. She won ten marathons in a row, a run that stretched from the 2018 BMW BERLIN MARATHON to the Oita wheelchair marathon in Japan, where she set a new world record of 1:35:42.
