CAREER NOTES:

Georgina Rono continued her record of strong marathon finishes with a third place at the 2012 Boston Marathon in her WMM debut.

She had a breakthrough race with a win at the 2011 Eindhoven Marathon. Her time of 2:24:33 was more than a six minute improvement.

Rono also won the Hanover Marathon last year and has additionally made the podium in Greece, Marrakesh, and Carpi. Earlier in 2012 Rono finished second at the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon in a personal best 1:09:13.

PERSONAL NOTES:

Rono trains in Kapsabet near Eldoret. She is married and has two children. She trains with her husband Daniel Koech.
