Moses Kigen Kipkosgei won his his first marathon in 2:10:12, a time that was deceptively slow given it was run in the high altitude of Nairobi, Kenya.

Six months later he placed eighth at Boston and then at the ING New York City Marathon in the fall, Kipkosgei cracked the top three.
