CAREER NOTES:

As a junior runner, Pushkareva placed third at the Russian 10,000m championships in 34:11. Last year she ran three marathons and won two.

At the 2010 Boston Marathon she knocked another four minutes off her PR. In the closing stages of the race she was closing fast on leader Teyba Erkesso, but just could not overhaul her, finishing three seconds behind.

PERSONAL NOTES:

Pushkareva trains in Kislovodsk, Russia and Portugal. Before becoming a professional runner, she was a competitive ballroom dancer. She is a graduate of the Permsk State Pedagogical University and a teacher and coach of physical culture. Pushkareva still enjoys dancing and her hobbies include hairstyling, cooking and collecting ballroom dancing shoes. Her husband, Alexander, is a former professional runner.
