CAREER NOTES:

Before 2009, Alfred Kering had never broken 2 hours 20 minutes for the marathon. His only finish was a 2:21:23 at Cape Town, South Africa in 2007.

In less than six months in 2009, Kering broke 2 hours 10 minutes not once but twice. The first occasion was in Rotterdam in April with a sixth place 2:09:19 and the second was at Berlin where he moved up one placing with a 2:09:41.
