Dibaba ran 2:22:09, the third fastest marathon debut in history at Chicago in 2011.

She was the 2004 Olympic silver medalist at 10,000 meters. Her track credentials include two world championships bronze medals, and she has superb speed with career best times of 30:18.39 for 10,000m and 14:32.74 for 5000m.
