CAREER NOTES:

After a lengthy non-World Marathon Majors career, Caroline Kilel made her WMM debut a stirring one. In a stride for stride battle over the final dozen meters of the 2011 Boston Marathon, Kilel summoned one last kick to prevail over American Desiree Davila.

Her last marathon had been a course record victory in Frankfurt and she also has posted wins at Ljubljana, Taipei, Nairobi and Palermon.
